Erté – About the Artist
Romain de Tirtoff (23 November 1892 – 21 April 1990) was a Russian-born French artist and designer known by the pseudonym Erté, from the French pronunciation of his initials. He was a diversely talented 20th-century artist and designer who flourished in an array of fields, including fashion, jewellery, graphic arts, costume and set design for film, theatre, and opera, and interior decor.
In 1915, he secured his first substantial contract with Harper’s Bazaar magazine, and thus launched an illustrious career that included designing costumes and stage sets. Between 1915–1937, Erté designed over 200 covers for Harper’s Bazaar, and his illustrations would also appear in such publications as Illustrated London News, Cosmopolitan, Ladies’ Home Journal, and Vogue. Nobu Haihara – About the Artist
Well-known and successful at an early age, Nobu now has his work in the personal collections of President George W. Bush, Laker owner Jerry Buss and Hall-of-famers Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Jerry West, Jamaal Wilkes and the late Chick Hearn. Jim Dine – About the Artist
In 1962 Dine’s work was included, along with Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Robert Dowd, Phillip Hefferton, Joe Goode, Edward Ruscha, and Wayne Thiebaud, in the historically important and ground-breaking New Painting of Common Objects, curated by Walter Hopps at the Norton Simon Museum. This exhibition is historically considered one of the first “Pop Art” exhibitions in America. Alexandra Nechita – About the Artist
Alexandra Nechita was born in Romania in 1985. She began drawing at the age of two. At seven, Alexandra was painting with oils and acrylics, and her first exhibition was a one-woman (child) show held at a Los Angeles public library when she was just eight years old.
Alexandra’s talent was instantly recognized as crowds came to see her amazing and often monumental paintings. Peter Max – About the Artist
Peter Max is a German-born American illustrator and graphic artist, known for the use of psychedelic shapes and colour palettes as well as spectra in his work. At first, works in this style appeared on posters and were seen on the walls of college dorms all across America. Max then became fascinated with new printing techniques that allowed for four-color reproduction on product merchandise. Following his success with a line of art clocks for General Electric, Max’s art was licensed by 72 corporations and he had become a household name. In September 1969, Max appeared on the cover of Life magazine with an eight-page feature article as well as The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and The Ed Sullivan Show. [read more]

Ronnie Cutrone – About the Artist
Ronnie Cutrone (July 10, 1948 – July 21, 2013) was a Pop artist best known for his large-scale paintings of some of America’s favorite cartoon characters, such as Felix the Cat, Pink Panther and Woody Woodpecker.
Cutrone’s paintings are colorful, lively, and highly accessible. He was Andy Warhol’s assistant at the factory from 1972 until 1980, Warhol’s most productive years. During that time, as Cutrone worked with Warhol on paintings, prints, films, and concepts, he hit upon the style the critics called “Post-Pop.” And, along with Mary Woronov and Gerard Malanga, danced onstage with the Velvet Underground and Nico as part of the Exploding Plastic Inevitable show.
